Our Lady Of Lourdes (Part 2)
Part 2 of 2
It all began on Thursday February 18, 1858, a sequence of 18 events involving a beautiful Lady clothed in a brilliant, unearthly white robe, with a blue sash around her waist and a white veil on her head. She appeared to a 14-year-old poor peasant girl named Bernadette Soubirous.
During the 9th apparition, on February 25, 1858, the Lady asked Bernadette to "Drink from the Fountain and bathe in it." As Bernadette dug into the ground a little pool formed. She cupped her hands together, drank, and then washed her face.
The 16th apparition occurred on March 25, 1858, the Feast of the Annunciation. The Lady joined her hands and raised them to her breast while looking to the heavens and said "I am the Immaculate Conception"
The discovery of that miraculous spring in the Massibieille Grotto was to make not only Lourdes, France famous but grottos of "Our Lady of Lourdes" famous around the world.
